This was a fundamental issue that arose at a recent workshop with the business committees from each of our four current partner communities: Naga, Nabalesere, Navai, and Nubutautau.

What a wonderful first post-Winston trip back to Nabalesere’s beautiful village and spectacular waterfall. The community have been working hard over the last month to build back their homes and their livelihoods. It was great to be able to take visitors back and support them with all proceeds from yesterday’s trip going to the rebuilding

We are delighted to have won the Visitor Attraction and Activity category at the ANZ FIJI EXCELLENCE IN TOURISM AWARDS 2015. It is wonderful recognition for the communities and lodges that we work in partnership with and the uniqueness of the special places that we’re so privileged to visit.

This week trainers from St. John Ambulance led first aid training in both Naga and Navai villages, as part of our ongoing training programme for with our partner communities. For some of the hiking guides this was a refresher, for others it was a chance to learn a new set of skills.

As the end of 2015 fast approaches, we are excited to publish our trip schedule for 2016. We can’t wait for another great year getting people off the beaten track, and combining beautiful hiking with a rich cultural experience, visiting and staying in remote rural villages.

It took about six weeks, with sometimes over 100 men from the villages in the area working together, all fed breakfast, lunch and dinner by the ladies in the village, but finally by mid-July, Navatusila’s Vale ni Vanua was complete – and looking magnificent!
